Position Summary:
AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Pascagoula, MS that is the leading provider of quality construction, manufacturing, engineering, repair, and conversion products and services to the marine industry.
The Pipe Laborer/Helper will be responsible to assist our pipefitters and welders in the installation, assembly, and maintenance of piping systems on marine vessels and industrial job sites.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the layout, preparation, and installation of pipes, hangers, and supports
- Assist in the layout, preparation, and installation of pipes, hangers, and supports
- Transport and organize tools, equipment, and materials
- Measure, cut, grind, and clean piping components as directed
- Help with rigging and securing of pipe sections during installation
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including removal of debris and scrap
- Follow safety guidelines, including use of PPE and proper handling of tools
- Support welders by prepping materials and cleaning weld joints
- Assist with pressure testing and flushing of systems when required
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in shipyard.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Ability to read a tape measure and follow verbal/written instructions
- Physically fit: able to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, outdoor or indoor industrial environment
- Safety-focused mindset and willingness to learn
