Position Description
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all internally and externally manufactured aeronautical products meet required quality standards, company policies, applicable aviation regulations, and customer specifications. Responsibilities include verifying accurate documentation of discrepancies, inspection check sheets, task cards, and supporting materials such as approved drawings, technical data, engineering orders, certification documents, and regulatory compliance records.
This role ensures that all manufactured and purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, materials, and products conform to design and quality requirements, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of Conair’s inspection processes. Core duties involve inspection, reporting, and auditing as part of daily operations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the content of the Company MPM, QMS, QPM. Support the development and enhancement of these existing systems and policies.
- Visually inspect and measure incoming and inventory parts, assemblies, accessories, material, and products, using appropriate measuring equipment and practices and perform functional tests to ensure compliance with specifications and meet regulatory standards and quality assurance guidelines. Perform in-process and final inspections during production.
- Ensure inspection tools and equipment are calibrated and maintained.
- Ensure work packages are completed properly, referencing correct manufacturing specifications, customer, and/or regulatory references as applicable.
- Maintain records of inspections, test results, and report non-conformances (NCRs).
- Identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and assist in corrective actions to ensure best practices and continuous improvement of quality deliverables. Utilize the appropriate resources to solve day-to-day problems; react quickly to unforeseen events.
- Work with production, engineering, and suppliers to improve quality and provide training. Development and improvement of all inspection processes to ensure detection of non-conforming material, parts, builds and installations. Participate in initiatives to enhance processes and product quality.
- Maintain FOD/housekeeping standards to ensure a safe product and working environment.
- Work in compliance with all administrative, health and safety policies and procedures as per legislative requirements and as outlined in company policies. Foster a safe working environment.
- Offsite Supplier inspections for compliance, testing processes and procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Previous inspection experience in related discipline, preferably in the aerospace industry, including practical knowledge of inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with aircraft quality standards (CARs 561, AS9100 or ISO9000) is an asset.
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Ability to practically apply the knowledge gained from courses to real-world tasks, particularly in the quality control and aerospace industry.
- Advanced level reading and interpretation of engineering and customer drawings and technical data.
- Advanced level knowledge of manufacturing procedures and practices, preferably related to aviation maintenance and production.
- Advanced level knowledge and ability to use job-related quality measurement tools.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Initiative to start and complete tasks within deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to act ethically and with professionalism in the face of adversity.
- Strong collaborator and good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to interact and clearly communicate both internal and external, to be able to explain processes, listen to concerns, and provide practical solutions to such problems.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, other software knowledge is an asset.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Education and Experience
- High School diploma required;
- AME License Rating
- Quality Inspector Certification, CQI preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and general computer skills is an asset

- Valid Driver’s License.
- Valid Passport and ability to travel worldwide.
- Flexible working any shift and overtime as needed (including weekends).
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship or permanent residency)
