ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT/Networks student to join our team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, networking, and support operations. The intern will work closely with our IT and network administration teams to support day-to-day operations, troubleshoot network issues, and contribute to various projects.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available, and candidates must already be located in Malta. Applicants must have graduated from university within a maximum of one year from their graduation date.

Scope of the Internship:

The IT/Networks Student is designed to provide real-world exposure to the field of networking and IT systems. The intern will gain experience in network management, system administration, troubleshooting, cybersecurity, and IT support. This role will allow the intern to work on practical assignments and projects that align with industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
• Support the IT team in troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity issues.
• Monitor network performance and security, ensuring optimal system functionality.
• Help maintain and update IT documentation, including network diagrams and system configurations.
• Participate in IT infrastructure and networking projects under the guidance of experienced professionals.
• Provide technical support for employees, responding to help desk tickets related to network and system issues.
• Assist in configuring and managing network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Learn and implement security best practices to protect network and IT systems.
• Support software and hardware deployment, updates, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with the IT team to enhance overall system efficiency and reliability.

Learning Outcomes:

During the internship, the candidate will:

• Gain practical experience in managing and troubleshooting IT networks and infrastructure.
• Develop a foundational understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, and security measures.
• Enhance problem-solving skills through hands-on troubleshooting of network and system issues.
• Learn to configure and manage various network devices and tools.
• Improve technical documentation and communication skills.
• Work in a collaborative environment and understand the role of IT in business operations.
• Acquire knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
