Position Summary:
AAA, United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in the Southeast Region.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Designer with a current NICET Level III or IV certification to join our client’s team. This role requires a highly skilled professional with deep knowledge of NFPA codes, proficiency in AutoCAD, and experience running hydraulic calculations using SprinkCAD.
Essential Functions:
- Design and layout automatic fire sprinkler systems using SprinkCAD and AutoCAD.
- Prepare detailed shop and installation drawings in compliance with applicable NFPA codes and local authority standards.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and prepare material lists.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure seamless coordination of sprinkler systems.
- Review and interpret architectural and MEP drawings to design compliant systems.
- Participate in coordination meetings and model integration in Navisworks or other 3D tools.
- Maintain accurate design documentation and support permit and submittal processes.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to quality control reviews as needed.
Requirements
- NICET Level III or IV Certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology – Water-Based Systems Layout (required).
- Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in fire sprinkler design.
- Proficiency with SprinkCAD (hydraulic calculation and layout software).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting software.
- Strong understanding of NFPA 13, 14, 20, and other relevant codes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering documents.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with Navisworks, Revit, or similar 3D modeling platforms.
- Experience in BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Familiarity with additional fire protection design tools and platforms.
