Summary:
Fabricate aircraft furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using engineering drawings and specifications.
Ensure work is completed with a high level of quality, safety, and attention to detail.
Support the team by learning and applying techniques from more experienced team members.
Fabricate furniture and wood subassemblies according to blueprints, aircraft specs, and engineering drawings
Assemble, pin, and glue cabinet shells; install hardware such as drawer slides, hinges, and latches
Apply exterior surface materials, including laminates, veneers, and cap strips
Operate stationary and handheld power tools for fabrication and disassembly
Follow all safety procedures and 5S/housekeeping standards; use PPE to protect aircraft interiors
Use the material tracking system to create part demands, track squawks, and sign off completed work
Collaborate with leads and senior technicians to implement process improvements that enhance safety, reduce cost, and minimize cycle time using Lean and Six Sigma principles
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Basic knowledge of cabinetmaking processes, tools, and materials
Minimum 2 years of cabinetmaking experience
Aerospace industry experience preferred
Familiarity with inspection and process specifications preferred
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Ability to climb ladders/stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift
Basic computer literacy required
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
