Role Introduction
Reports To: Strategic Projects Manager
This role is part of a professional team in our Flight Operations Department, which consists of flight crew and ground staff teams, both working to ensure the highest standards of operational efficiency and service. Safety is intrinsic to everything we do.
As a Strategic Projects Lead, you will be responsible for acting as the main point of contact on payroll matters to ensure effective monitoring of payroll and implementation accuracy for any changes. You will also support new initiatives and the launch of new projects in the department. Additionally, you will conduct studies and analyses to develop strategies and initiatives to improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support payroll-related projects and changes. Be the main point of contact between Flight Operations (FOP) and Payroll and IT team on payroll matters
- Responsible for the implementation and delivery of projects that involve changes to payroll settings, oversee all communication and instruction settings between FOP and Global Business Services (GBS)/IT on payroll changes, and ensure implementation accuracy
- Monitor projects post-implementation to ensure they meet or exceed stated benefits
- Manage payroll automation, and assist in carrying out manual calculations during any interim period
- Support the monthly pay run exercise - supply data to downstream teams, check and validate data to ensure its accuracy, and answer the queries from other teams and flight crew related to payroll
- Support the corporate-wide audit and review exercises
- Conduct studies and analyses to develop strategies to ensure cost efficiency and deliver the implementation of strategic initiatives for the department
- Work with other teams to develop and deliver new initiatives to improve operational efficiencies
- Produce regular reports to monitor the financial performance and provide insights to the management team
- Support the digital transformation of the payroll and reporting process; and support the financial budgeting and regular and ad-hoc forecasting exercises for FOP in collaboration with various stakeholders
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of solid experience in working in a face-paced operational environment; Experience in managing payroll and payroll data is preferred
- University degree in business, mathematics, statistics or other related discipline
- Experiences in change management and project management - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an advantage
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a clear and logical approach.
- Excellent with Excel spreadsheets and numbers
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Good command of both spoken and written English
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, organised with strong time management skills
