Role Overview:

  • Contract Management: Manage long-term and transactional contracts, ensuring compliance with agreements and regulations.

  • Business Development: Drive spares and repair sales growth to expand services revenue and support fleet sustainability.

  • Financial Acumen: Assess financial impacts of decisions and maintain accurate program performance metrics. Manage annual budgets and operating plans.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategies that align with organizational goals and elevate transactional needs to long-term planning.

  • Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives using FLIGHT DECK Fundamentals and structured problem-solving.

  • Leadership: Inspire and guide teams, fostering collaboration and impactful people leadership.

  • Materials Management: Optimize forecasting, planning, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.

  • Communication: Deliver clear, persuasive communication to influence stakeholders and drive alignment.

  • Project Management: Plan, execute, and manage programs with established project management expertise. Work across the product lines and cross-functional teams to deliver on customer needs.

  • Industry Knowledge: Stay ahead of industry trends to inform strategy and policy development.

  • Decision Making: Use sound judgment to navigate complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • An experienced and proactive professional with a strong background in aerospace or other complex industry as well as servicing customers including the ministry of defense. They possess a blend of leadership, technical acumen, operational acumen, problem solving capability and regulatory compliance to operate in a complex environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge level comparable to a Masters degree from an accredited university or college.

  • 15 years of experience in services and customer order fulfillment, particularly within the Japan Ministry of Defense and associated business/Industries. Demonstrated expertise in managing long-term and transactional contracts, repair, new material, and long-term contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of P&L finances, including the ability to assess the impact of decisions on financials.

  • Proven ability to elevate transactional needs to long-term strategic planning. Experience in developing and implementing  strategies that align with organizational goals & objectives.

  • Strong influencing, communication, and collaboration skills. Experience in leading and inspiring large teams, including leading leaders.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving mindset, with experience working closely with the supply chain on delivery and structured  problem-solving. Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems using a structured approach.

  • Proven impactful people leadership skills, with experience in leading programs/projects with minimal resources, risk, and complexity. Ability to inspire and guide teams effectively.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate difficult concepts and influence others opinions on topics.

  • Established project management skills, with experience in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs/projects.

  • Specialized knowledge within the function, with the ability to influence strategy development and policy formulation. Staying informed of industry and Defense business trends that may inform work.

  • High level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks. Ability to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and provide recommendations.
