Position Summary:
Magellan Aerospace Processing New York, or MAPNY, is a full-service treatments house that delivers an extensive range of Nadcap-accredited surface treatments and non-destructive testing services for the aerospace and medical industries. We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager. The successful incumbent will plan, organize, direct, and control the accounting and control function of the division, report operational results, and provide chronological systems.

Position Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinates and develops an adequate financial plan for the division. Such a plan provides profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgets, accounts receivable, cost standards and saving opportunities, and capital investing, together with the necessary controls and procedures to effectuate the plan.
- Authorizes expenditures in accordance with plan.
- Compares performance with operating plans and standards. Provides reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management.
- Responsible for the implementation of and adherence to accounting policies, the preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required.
- Forecasts short-range and long-range cash requirements and obligations, as a basis for maintaining adequate funds. Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and ensuring proper insurance coverage.
- Monitors credit and collection applications. Approves terms above a predetermined dollar amount. Assists in establishing and maintaining product pricing policies.
- Provides other company units with related information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities.
- Keeps the Division Manager informed of the division’s performance and provides advice on all financial matters.
- Monitors inventory levels and advises management regarding variances to budget.
- Develops and presents to the Division Manager, matters requiring his or her decision.
- Provides leadership and people management within the Finance function, including defining roles and responsibilities, ensuring appropriate staffing and succession coverage, supporting training and development needs, monitoring and managing performance, and fostering effective communication and positive employee relations in alignment with company policies and management principles.
- Acts within scope of authority and consistent with company and corporate objectives, guidelines, policies, and practices. Ensures optimum performance of the function. Recommends and implements techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.
- Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise. Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.
- Oversee and provide hands-on leadership for purchasing and payroll functions.

Position Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 4+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, preferably within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a controller or finance leadership role with responsibility for accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, credit and collections, and financial reporting; experience supporting operations with annual revenues of approximately $15M–$30M preferred.
- Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, well-developed financial analysis capabilities, and demonstrated ability to manage microcomputer operations and applications; experience with Microsoft Great Plains or SAP preferred.
- Sound administrative skills. Well-developed management skills-principles and people. Superior numeric skills.
