Quality Inspector Lead
Job Description:

Northwest Aerospace Technologies (“NAT”), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. Focusing on commercial and military aircrafts, NAT provides first class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue Chip customers.

The Lead Quality Inspector will maintain an accurate accounting of the workflow and parts through receiving, in-process, final and electrical inspection to include dates needed. The Lead Quality Inspector will assure compliance to a variety of dimensional and specification requirements. This includes receiving inspection, in-process inspection, first article inspections, final inspection and customer presentation. The Lead Quality Inspector will validate the physical characteristics as well as the processing requirements and the data certifications of parts with complex geometry and configurations. This position is responsible for insuring component manufacturing documentation is complete, accurate, and in conformance to the various drawings, documents, and company procedures. The Lead Quality Inspector is the liaison to and works directly with Manufacturing, Engineering, and the Purchasing departments. Additional responsibilities would also include any other duty assigned by the Quality department management.

Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the Lead Quality Inspector is responsible to provide guidance, support and direction to the inspectors. The Lead Quality Inspector will also monitor work flow and assign the inspectors focus for the day. The Lead Quality Inspector will provide updates to the Quality Manager frequently regarding workflow and areas of concern. The Lead Quality Inspector will be the liaison to the Manufacturing Engineer and to the Shop Leads. These duties will be in addition to the duties of a Quality Inspector which include the Lead Quality Inspector evaluating and determining that detail, assembly parts and test articles meet approved drawings and specifications while working under the procedures and policies of the NAT quality management systems.
Job Requirements:

The Lead Quality Inspector is required, at a minimum, to have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. The Director of Quality or the Quality Manager can determine whether education and training are “equivalent” based on an individual's experience. In addition, the Director of Quality or Quality Manager can determine if skillset, performance or understanding does not support the needs of the position regardless of years of experience. A Lead Quality Inspector must be:

•\tAble to read and understand engineering drawings, diagrams and specifications.
•\tAble to inspect parts using gauges, scales, micrometers, calipers, height gauges and other hand tools.
•\tAble to document findings and fill out First Article Reports (FAI's) using the AS9102 forms.
•\tAble to write non-conformance tags for discrepant parts.
•\tWork independently with little supervision.
•\tExhibit ethical independence and judgment of the parts and process.
•\tTypically 5 or more years' experience in mechanical inspection with focus on aerospace and manufacturing environment.
•\tAny other duties as assigned by the Quality Supervisor or Manager.

Skills/Abilities

•\tThe Quality Inspector must exhibit a technical aptitude.
•\tThe Quality Inspector must be able to read drawing and specifications, understand and follow written procedures and recognize the importance of compliance with NAT's quality requirements.
•\tClear communication (oral and written) skills
•\tAbility to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements while maintaining NAT's high quality standards.
•\tStrong computer skills to include understandings of MRP systems, Microsoft
Word and Excel programs.
•\tStrong analytical, organizational and troubleshooting skills.

Working Conditions:
•\tPrimarily warehouse and manufacturing environment
•\tConsistent use of computer key board and monitor
•\tSome travel may be required.

Physical Requirements:

•\tOccasional bending, climbing, grasping and lifting.
•\tOccasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
