Fall 2025 Mechanical Engineer Intern

Job Description:

The Mechanical Engineer Intern will be a part of the Engineering Technical Support Team which support the operational maintenance of Safran Actuation systems on the commercial and military aircraft. The Mechanical Engineer intern will be working under the supervision of the Lead Mechanical Engineer to support the maintenance of these products.

Job Requirements:

Essential Job Functions:

•\tTechnical Review of the updated Maintenance Manual and update all the supporting documents
•\tAssist the Engineer:
o\tDesign of test equipment and tools
o\tCreating 3D models with Solidworks
o\tTroubleshooting and maintenance of test equipment
o\tTraining technician on the repair of Safran units
•\tProvide support to technicians such as troubleshooting and technical questions
•\tProvide weekly summary report of projects and tasks
•\tOther duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience
•\tCurrently majoring in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•\tHas basic skills in analytical or scientific method
•\tHas basic knowledge in engineering concepts
•\tBasic knowledge in mechanical analysis related to kinematics, tolerance stack-ups, and strength / robustness
•\tFamiliar with 3D modeling software such as Solidworks, CATIA, Pro\\E, and AutoCAD
•\tFamiliar with standard mechanical engineering tools
•\tBasic knowledge of electronic tools (Multi-meter, Power Supply, etc.)
•\tProficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
•\tLegally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
•\tThis position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
