Raytheon Hardware Engineering (HE) is the premier organization for hardware design, development, production, and research.  HE strives to minimize total systems cost, while maximizing production. This is achieved through commitment, training and continuous improvement using common tools and processes. The capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, operations, technical services, materials and processes, analysis and test and documentation.   

The Tactical Radars & Effectors Department provides mechanical and hardware systems engineering expertise and provides support across locations in Arizona, California, Texas, and Massachusetts. The candidate will report directly to the mechanical design section in the department.  The mechanical engineer position is to perform design, production support and integration support for products including radars, effectors, and command and control systems. 

The position is for the Marlborough, MA location.  This position is an onsite role. 

What You Will Do

• Mechanical design, analysis and documentation of hardware and systems
• Working as part of a small team during product development, part and drawing creation, drawing release, and drawing change incorporation
• Creatively apply mechanical engineering knowledge to efficiently solve complex design problems and make sound and rationale data oriented technical conclusions.
• Providing factory and supplier support domestically and internationally
• Collaborating with senior external personnel on significant technical matters requiring coordination within and between organizations
• This position will require interfacing with other mechanical engineers, designers, and structural / thermal analysts, as well as engineers from other disciplines, along with customers and program management

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
• Experience using CAD software, such as CREO or equivalent

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) and CREO Modelling tools
• Understanding of electronics packaging, radar antenna design, or precision systems through class projects, professional internships, or academic research
• Efficient and disciplined process execution behaviors coupled with agility of thought and knowledge of how to appropriately tailor processes to fit the task
• Demonstrates ability to apply academic engineering knowledge to solve design issues
• Understanding of the mechanical engineering design processes

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
