Job Description:
Ready to join one of our Airbus Programs in Spain?
AIRBUS offers an internship (curricular practicum) program aimed at students who are in the last year of their degree with the main objective of acquiring professional skills through the development of a project in the company.
What do we offer?: Internship (curricular practicum) program &43; Bachelor’s Degree Final Project (TFG).
Mission: You will prepare a final year training project that will allow you to complete your official studies.
About practical training:
6 months of curricular practicum at AIRBUS from February to July 2026
Part time: 5h / day - 25 hours per week (8h-13h)
Tutor assignment for continuous monitoring
Final project (TFG) to be carried out by the student:
Composite Unfolding failure criterion studiesMotivation:
The project will be based on composite unfolding analysis for composite structure. Composite angles are substituting more and more metallic angles in structural part design. CFRP L-angles can be found at numerous locations within an aircraft structure.
Main reason is structural simplicity as angles can be integral to the structural part reducing the elements in the joint &x1f86a; reduced weight, avoid corrosion problem. On the contrary the behaviour of the angle need to be understood in detail.
The student will develop the grant inside the stress method and design value team 1ACAAS at Airbus in charge of the development of the sizing method applicable to the whole Airbus aircraft family. The student will be located in Getafe but will be integrated in a fully transnational team.
Project:
The intention of the project is to deep dive into failure mechanism in unfolding. Methodology from Airbus consist on solving analytically composite curve beam computing interlaminar stress state for each ply. Those are later compared with a failure criterion.
During the project the student will compare test data with actual prediction and he will apply latest PhD studies that suggest thickness effect and induce unfolding to fully capture failure mechanism.
On top for other type of profiles (typically T) student may also study the influence of robbing through a pressure distribution
