- Creation of project plans and execution of the projects to plan by leading cross-functional engineering team (typically 4 to 8 members), providing both technical and project oversight.
- Interfacing with internal stakeholders, such as the Value Stream Leader, as well as external stakeholders such as industry customers, government agencies, and suppliers.
- Maintain program schedule, resource demand, budget and EVMS (earned value management system) tools
- Proactively identify project risks and opportunities, develop robust mitigation or capture plans, and lead the timely execution of those plans.
- Participate in technical design discussions and lead status and performance presentations
- Adherence to Collins Management System (CMS) standard work
- Provide timely and effective communication to management and the engineering team
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
- Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications we prefer:
- Engineering degree or MBA degree combined with an undergraduate engineering degree
- Experience in project engineering for new technology development Engineering projects, including requirements management, non-recurring basis of estimates, recurring cost estimates, integrated master schedules (IMS), technical proposals, compliance matrices, risk & opportunity management, internal/external meetings, etc.
- Experience working with an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or equivalent project financial management methods
- Experience collaborating with internal and external customers on mechanical and electrical systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Project Professional
- Design and test experience with aerospace products or a closely related industry
- Familiarity with Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and experience maturing emerging technologies to higher TRL

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
