Job overview and responsibilities
The Technical Operations Reliability team ensures United operates safely and dependably by analyzing aircraft defects and operational disruptions. The team monitors trends to notify maintenance and engineering teams of emerging issues and probable corrective actions.
As the Senior Engineer of Reliability, you will serve as the subject matter expert for your assigned fleet. Your role is to provide accurate, high-quality insights and trend analysis, helping various divisions make informed, data-driven decisions. You will identify root causes of significant aircraft issues through detailed reporting and analysis. This position balances both strategic and tactical responsibilities, from long-term fleet initiatives to the day-to-day identification of recurring system failures.
- Provide accurate, timely data on technical aircraft system failures and operational interruptions.
- Support the identification and analysis of fleet trends, conducting operational drilldowns, and applying engineering expertise to highlight potential issues.
- Assist in executing ongoing reliability and fleet initiatives while addressing ad-hoc requests as needed.
- Recommend reliability and safety improvements through detailed analysis and insights.
- Contribute to the management of fleet reliability and facilitate cross-collaboration with various teams on technical topics.
- Communicate complex technical data to a wide variety of key stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
- Identify actionable insights from complex data to guide decision-making and improve reliability outcomes.
