The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a mid level engineer to join the test Equipment Engineering team in Huntsville, AL, on the Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) missile-defense program. Boeing Huntsville has multi-year contracts to develop, manufacture, and test the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seeker and future improvements. These contracts are driving significant, long-term growth for the PAC-3 engineering team on the Huntsville, AL campus. This Engineer will be responsible for the Power Assembly (PA) test assembly repair and maintenance in support of testing of the next generation Patriot Missile RADAR seeker and supporting production and special test equipment design. The team will consist of multi-skilled engineers (Mechanical, Electronic, SW, and Systems Engineers) engaged in the detailed development tasks to create this next generation complex electro-mechanical seeker and its associated test and simulation equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supports the development and verification of test methods.
- Develops detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan.
- Develops solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impact.
- Designs test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements.
- Uses analytical tools to verify the design. Analyzes, processes, and formats data to customer requirements.
- Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer.
- Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements.
- Presents test results internally. Archives data and reports. Trains others. Works under general direction.
This position is 100 onsite.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelors degree in in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- 5+ years of engineering experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience)
- 3+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting electronics and electrical systems.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience with Missile Defense
- Radar Seeker experience
- Electronic Design experience
- Embedded SW development experience
- Experience with Cost Account Manager (CAM)
