The Boeing Company has one of the most complex logistics networks of any company in the world. We are seeking a Packaging Engineering Specialist (Level 2) to join our team located in St. Louis, Missouri (Hazelwood), or Ridley Park, PA.

This role supports Boeing Military Programs and may require local support/travel to other locations.

Our Packaging Engineering Specialists are hard-working, goal-oriented and creative, and we are looking for this new team member to participate in every level of design and orientation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support analytics and practices of all facets of Packaging, earning invaluable skills and industry knowledge
  • Under supervision, determines efficiencies and prepares improvements for implementation as part of cost-effective worldwide distribution and storage by considering practical packaging and/or handling applications
  • Under supervision identifies project requirements by considering packing and material handling equipment
  • Assist in providing logistics support analysis by applying established company policies and procedures in accordance with domestic and international laws
  • Under supervision supply applicable standards to protect parts during shipment and works with shipping personnel to provide packaging instructions
  • Under supervision, maintains employee awareness for hazardous materials (dangerous goods) general familiarization, function specific, and safety requirements by providing walk-through support to meet federal and international regulations
  • Evaluates, classifies and develops packaging instructions for hazardous materials
  • Plans the spanings, labeling, packaging, and documentation for shipments in compliance with Federal, State, and International regulations.
  • May occasionally interact and present to high level organizational leadership

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience reading & interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • 1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 1+ years of experience working with CAD system (SolidWorks, NX Unigraphics or Catia).
  • 1+ years of experience using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverables

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline
  • 1+ years of experience in dangerous goods, regulations and assessments
  • 1+ years of experience with packaging engineering (preferably Military packaging).
  • 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of experience working independently
  • 1+ years of experience of analytical and design skills
  • 1+ years of experience using critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Background in US Military Logistics or similar

Typical Education & Experience:

Typically, 3 or more years related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Summary pay range:

St Louis: $79,000 - $95,700

Ridley Park: $83,700 - $102,300
