The Position:
Panasonic Avionics Corporation is seeking exceptional Embedded Software Engineers to join their innovative team in Beaverton, Oregon. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and testing sophisticated software applications for inflight entertainment systems, requiring a strong foundation in various programming languages and technologies. The position emphasizes collaboration in an Agile/DevOps environment, quality assurance, and continuous improvement, offering opportunities to work on groundbreaking projects that enhance the travel experience for millions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and test high quality client software applications in embedded systems from functional and system specifications.
- Enhance existing software to optimize performance to meet KPIs, improve efficiency, and bolster robustness.
- Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams in an Agile/DevOps environment.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure project success.
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures to ensure software functionality and performance.
- Implement rigorous testing processes, including functional testing, regression testing, and performance benchspaning
- Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Actively contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from initial design to deployment and maintenance.
The salary or hourly wage range of $93,000– $157,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Linux Kernel and device driver development, debugging, and testing.
- Experience with test automation tools and techniques.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python and competence with scripting languages.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of communication protocols like UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, and USB.
- Experience with operating system development, security protocols, and updates.
- Understanding of hypervisors and virtualization technologies.
- Understanding of boot processes and flows.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills and a high level of interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with infotainment systems.
- Familiarity with QNX.
- Understanding of TCP/IP and HTTP/HTTPS protocols.
- Familiarity with wireless technologies (Bluetooth, WiFi), satellite connectivity solutions.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
