PURPOSE

Manages the technical design life cycle development and maintenance of platforms and related services using existing and emerging technologies.

About the Role

As a Team Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in SITA’s Airports Portfolio you will lead the team responsible for technical design, development and maintenance of the Azure Cloud platform and related services, that enable the modernisation and efficient delivery of services to our customers.


We are seeking a talented individual with Azure cloud engineering experience to join the Airport Ops & Baggage Platform/DevOps team, this team are dedicated to developing and deploying our Cloud solutions in the most optimal way, and we would like to have you onboard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team lead for the Cloud Platform Team - with line management responsiblity (including performance management) for the engineering resources on the team.

Technical product owner for the Ops/Baggage cloud platform, setting out & maintaining the platform technical product roadmap – working in conjunction with the senior technical owners on the team.

You will act as the key liaison with senior technology stakeholders and partners to ensure full delivery of software releases & product roadmaps.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the implementation of cost-effective Cloud Solutions to ensure they are scalable, efficient and secure
  • Participate in the definition and evolution of platform engineering practices, technical processes and guidelines.
  • Work as part of a broader team of problem solvers, solving complex business issues from strategy to execution via automation.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines from development right though to production.
  • Work with the SITA agile practice group to identify & implement the optimum agile model and processes for the team.
  • Mentor, guide and upskill junior team members.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

5+ Years Cloud engineering/DevOps experience
Previous People Management experience
Experience working with agile methodologies Scrum/Kanban

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Ability to lead the team on complex projects (size or scope) overseeing requirement analysis through implementation and/or support.
Coordinating multiple technical streams of work to produce a complete solution.

Working with agile methodologies, building and managing the team backlog in Azure DevOps, ensuring correct practices are followed.

Capable of understanding customers business objectives & translating to outcomes, creating high-level solution designs with input from key technical resources.

Understanding and articulating trade-offs and risks with technical choices.

Azure FinOps - cost modeling, tracking and optimisation in Azure.

You thrive in a team environment, leading with excellent communication.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent).

Where applicable a recognised professional qualification is desirable.
