Engineer the Unbreakable—Protect Systems That Power Aerospace and DefensePDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Staff Electrical Engineer – Nuclear Hardening & Survivability for a full-time, 12-month consulting role in Woodland Hills, CA. This is a rare opportunity to work on the cutting edge of aerospace and defense, where your designs are tested by some of the harshest environments imaginable—radiation, nuclear effects, and space conditions.
As a key member of a highly specialized team, you’ll help ensure mission-critical systems survive and perform in the most extreme conditions, safeguarding national security and advancing aerospace technology.
This position requires a security clearance, and candidates are required to be U.S. Citizens.
What You’ll DoLead the radiation analysis and survivability validation of electronic components, subsystems, and systems
Analyze electrical circuit performance in nuclear and space radiation environments, including:
Prompt dose rate
Total ionizing dose (TID)
Neutron displacement damage
Single event effects (SEE)
Design, simulate, and evaluate complex electrical circuits for survivability
Develop and execute radiation test procedures and support functional testing
Prepare and deliver detailed technical documentation for Requirements and Design Reviews
Use advanced engineering tools such as Ansys and modeling software
Identify risks and mitigate uncertainty in requirements, designs, and testing
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and engage stakeholders in a solution-focused manner
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM discipline
12+ years of engineering experience (or 10+ with a Masters; 8+ with a Ph.D.)
Strong experience with radiation-hardened (rad-hard) electrical circuit design, modeling, and analysis
Experience in electrical circuit/system level design or testing
Willingness to travel up to 5
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Pay Details: $49.41 to $66.98 per hour
