In this role, you will leverage your skills and expertise to support the development of complex designs and technical drawings. Your responsibilities will span a wide range, from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft systems. You will review layouts, drawings, and bills of material for clarity, completeness, dimensional accuracy, and conformity to design/drafting standards and specifications.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Responsibilities:
Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and improvements.
Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, configuration management, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet build requirements and specifications and are cost-effective.
Ensuring the readiness of highly complex software solutions for release, which include both advanced back end and front-end development
Monitor the release and change processes with cross-functional teams throughout a programs lifecycle.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Associates degree in Design, Drafting or a related field.
5+ years of experience in experience in design or drafting within the aerospace and defense industry.
Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Proven ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools like CATIA, Solidworks, AutoCad, Allegro, Creo, NX, ProEngineer or Enovia 3DExperiance.
- Ability to understand and interpret basic technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
- Knowledge of industry standard design principles to include, but not limited to, parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware and/or electrical component selection, fabrication, manufacturing, and production processes
- Working knowledge of ASME and Government standards.
- Prior experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
- Familiarity with Electro-Magnetic Effects (EME) to include, Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI)
- Experience in digital and analog circuit layout and schematic capture
- Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools
- Exposure to Documentation Control Database and/or Materials Resource Planning (MRP) Systems
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience.
- Background in the Aerospace & Defense Industry
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Understanding of engineering principles and practices
