Location: Savannah, GA Payrate: $80.52/hour Schedule: 1st shift: 7am to 5:30pm
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the development, certification, and production of world-class aircraft. In this high-impact role, youll serve as a technical leader, driving complex engineering initiatives while collaborating across design, manufacturing, and product support teams to deliver innovative aerospace solutions.
What Youll Do
Maintain aircraft type design by developing and managing form, fit, and function documentation.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product support teams to complete design activities.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical leadership on complex engineering challenges.
Prepare engineering reports, technical analyses, and presentations.
Mentor junior engineers and support technical development across the team.
Resolve complex structural and mechanical system design issues while balancing performance, cost, and schedule requirements.
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovations that improve product quality and effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
10+ years of experience in a specific engineering discipline, or 15+ years of broad engineering experience across multiple disciplines.
Thorough understanding of aircraft structures and mechanical system design, including design loads, fatigue, and corrosion.
Strong knowledge of metallic and composite part design, manufacturing processes, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
Experience with 3D Model-Based Definition (3D MBD) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Proven ability to independently solve complex engineering problems and provide authoritative technical guidance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting aircraft design programs.
Proficiency with CATIA V5, including Part Design, Sheet Metal, Composite Part Design (CPD), FT&A, Kinematics, and Knowledge-Based Engineering (KBE) tools.
Experience with SmarTeam PLM.
Masters degree or higher in Engineering or a related field.
Previous experience mentoring engineers and leading technical projects.

Pay Details: $80.52 per hour
