Stress Engineer
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an Stress Engineer for an opportunity in Atlanta, GA.
Job Summary
Perform analysis and substantiation of complex aircraft interior and structural modifications and generate substantiation documents to show compliance to applicable regulatory requirements.
- Identify applicable airworthiness requirements for proposed mechanical and structural designs, and recommend specific methods of compliance.
- Lead the reviews and analysis of engineering design data to verify compliance to structural design criteria, providing progressive inputs to the design.
- Produce substantiation reports to document structural analysis.
- Generate test plans and serve as test engineer during compliance testing, and document test results in reports.
- Support regulatory review of engineering, testing and substantiation data.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing and installation of aircraft modification projects.
- Interface with customers, suppliers and other project stakeholders pertaining to modification projects.
- Provide statements of work, cost estimates, completion schedules and other project administrative inputs.
Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Qualifications and requirements:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 3-5 yrs aviation related experience; or
Master’s Degree in Engineering with 1-3 yrs aviation related experience; or
Ph.D. in Engineering; or
5-9 yrs in a technical aviation related discipline with 2-3 in an aviation engineering organization
Strongly Preferred:
- B.S. in engineering or related scientific field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
- Five (5) years overall work experience, three (3) of which in a stress engineering role.
- Must have strong analytical skills and demonstrate ability to perform detailed hand analysis and utilize various analytical substantiation techniques.
- Must have strong computer skills and demonstrate proficiency with MS Office programs.
- Must have experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods
- Must be familiar with aircraft mechanical/structural design processes, materials, fabrication methods and aerospace hardware.
- Must possess general knowledge of substantiation techniques and FAA regulatory requirements.
- Must be able to effectively utilize aircraft continued airworthiness data.
- Must be organized and an effective project manager, presenting good communication skills and a professional appearance.
Minimum:- Knowledge of aircraft interiors, composites and entertainment systems.
Experience with 3D CAD systems.
