The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Linux Systems Administrator to join the Specialized United States Infrastructure Operations Organization team in Berkeley, MO.
This position will install, operate, secure and maintain dedicated Program Information Technology Infrastructure that is required to deliver products to our customers.
As a Linux Administrator, your expertise will play a crucial role in integrating logistics, manufacturing, and engineering into a cohesive ecosystem. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of a secure network that supports all tools and, more importantly, the personnel involved in this mission.
This role directly supports our Air Dominance (AD) programs. You will be tasked with installing, operating, securing, and maintaining the dedicated Program Information Technology Infrastructure necessary for delivering products to our customers. We offer Enterprise capabilities within closed networks, encompassing standard office functions, application development stacks, engineering workflows, vulnerability remediation, and more.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of a Linux environment, including scripting and analyzing computing requirements
Perform activities to install, configure and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software and components
Participate in activities to plan, develop, design, and integrate all computer applications
Conduct Linux troubleshooting, you will diagnose and resolve system issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of our Linux environments
Ensure systems conform to architectural objectives
Evaluate complex systems production readiness and supportability
Perform the restoration of complex computing service operations
Perform complex system problem identification and resolution
Implement security measures to safeguard systems and data, including firewalls, access controls, and regular updates
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to maintain system integrity
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Active Security+ certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 6 months of your start date
3+ years of experience in performing system administration tasks on Windows and Linux hosts including installing security patches and making configuration changes to support security requirements
3+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for RHEL 6 or higher
3+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for Windows 7 or higher
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience in packaging, updating, and administering Linux operating systems, specifically Oracle Linux/RHEL 6 or higher
5+ years of experience in installation and integration of both Windows and Linux operating systems, including related COTS products
5+ years of experience with GRUB, diskless booting, and NFS/storage solutions
5+ years of experience with Bash scripting, Kickstart scripts, and experience in creating configuration modules using Puppet and Ansible
5+ years of experience developing shell scripts to automate processes and enhance system efficiency
5+ years of experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to establish standard practices and technology stacks that support customer needs
5+ years of experience in managing break/fix requests and long-term projects aimed at improving technology infrastructure, while developing and managing workflow tools and metrics to ensure effective service delivery
5+ years of experience in integrating security solutions such as McAfee, Splunk, and HBSS into information systems
5+ years of experience in administering user system access and implementing safeguards to protect sensitive information in compliance with security requirements

Summary pay range: $88,400 – $119,600
