Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will work within a program delivering essential Defence capability in collaboration with our customer and industry partners.
As a Contracts Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the management of commercial agreements across some of Australia’s most critical defence programs. This position involves working within a matrix organisation and collaborating with project teams to ensure effective contract execution in line with company policies and approved management plans.
You will contribute to contract negotiations, draft commercial correspondence, and assist in identifying and mitigating commercial risks. Your responsibilities will include maintaining contractual records, supporting bid and proposal activities, and serving as a point of contact for customer and supplier interfaces throughout the contract lifecycle. This role offers exposure to complex procurement processes, compliance requirements, and opportunities to influence decision-making while ensuring the integrity of sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day administration of commercial requirements for assigned program contracts, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders to administer program contract agreements and ensure successful delivery of services.
- Ensuring all commercial activity follows the guidelines specified by the Program Management Plans.
- Contribute to the identification of commercial risks, and the development and implementation of solutions.
- Provide interpretation and explanation of customer procurement policy and regulations, company policy, and contract requirements and terms and conditions, to stakeholders to manage compliance and inform decision-making.
- Serve as a point of contact for customer and supplier interfaces with the company.
- Maintaining records in relevant systems and databases, ensuring all agreements are included, up-to-date and are regularly reviewed for currency and accuracy.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- A Degree in Business, Commerce or Law, with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar role.
- Have a good practical knowledge and experience in contract management and procurement activities.
- Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
